Overdose On Lunesta Facts in Questions
what mg of lunesta is considered an overdose? i recently was prescribed lunesta, and i've heard that overdose levels are low amounts which worries me, typically what mg dose is an overdose. just for the sake of safety

Pooky replied: "That question should not come up really. What you need to do is read the label on the bottle and follow the instructions. If it says one at night as needed, then that is all you should take."

how many mg of lunesta would be an overdose? I'm prescirbed three but it doesn't work so I'm taking six...(mg not tablets)

Patrick N. replied: "First off stop what you are doing. Stick with the 3mg, you are screwing your body up. Go visit your doctor if you are complaining."

Lunesta Overdose? Help!? Okay she took 18mgs of lunesta. Isn't the dose normally 2mgs. Thinking I should take her to the hospital. she's dizzy, falling over, feeling like she's about to throw up; hasn't yet though. Her speech is slurring and it's taking her minutes to figure out what word she wants to say. Take her to the hospital right!? This is a bad OD isn't it, from what I've been reading up since she said she'd takem em.

Allison's mom <3 replied: "GET THE HELL OUT AND TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL DON'T EVEN WAIT FOR ANOTHER ANSWER! GO GO GO!"

Part time lover(: replied: "i agreee."

sunu replied: "Goooooooooooooooooooooooo.............................RUN!!! u may read this after her visit to the doc. There have been a few cases of Lunesta overdoses, including a few intentional Lunesta overdoses. Based on how Lunesta works, symptoms of a Lunesta overdose might include: Drowsiness Passing out Trouble breathing Loss of life. A Lunesta overdose is more dangerous when Lunesta is taken with alcohol or other medications that affect the brain. Treatment for an Overdose on Lunesta Given that there have been so few cases of people taking too much Lunesta, it is also not known what the best treatment for a Lunesta overdose is. If the Lunesta overdose was recent, the healthcare provider may give certain medicines or place a tube into the stomach to "pump the stomach." Treatment may also involve supportive care. This type of care consists of treating the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. For example, supportive treatment options for a Lunesta overdose may include: Fluids through an intravenous line (IV) Close monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing Other treatments based on complications that occur. It is important that you seek medical attention immediately if you believe that you may have overdosed on Lunesta."

Jenna replied: "yeah, that's why they have 911...but anyway the normal adult dose of lunesta is between 3 and 6 mg. It says on the pre ion bottle to take right before bed and to lie down right after taking it. It is a sleeping pill...so duh...it will make you dizzy, tired, fall over, and maybe even nauseous...hope your friend is ok...but i seriously doubt she has ingested a lethal dose...a trip to the er wouldn't hurt though"

can you overdose on lunesta? i just got a bottle of lunesta today to help my insomnia. Ive taken 8 and still can't fall asleep. they are 3 mg each thank you for your time and answers sarah

* Darksongbird * replied: "You shouldn't be taking more than prescribed. That's not good. I'm not sure if you can overdose on it, well I'm sure you CAN, but I'm not sure how much it'll take. Besides the name of the product, I'm unfamiliar."

Your Assistant replied: "Yes, call 911 you need medical attention. NOW"

The Penguins Bowtie replied: "This is the emergency number for the Poison Control Center: 1-800-222-1222 You need to contact them right away, and make sure you are going to be alright. Please. RIGHT NOW! They will tell you if you need to go into the hospital or not. If you do, they will contact the hospital before you go in so you can go right in (instead of waiting in the lobby)."

Is taking overdose of sleeping pills dangerous and painful?? Please tell me in detail about the sleeping pills and which sleeping pills shud be taken if someone wants to commit suicide. What about Limovan, Lunesta and Ambien pills. Are these very painful? Actually wat happens wen someone take overdose of them?

cooder70 replied: "Most people think that when someone takes an overdose of sleeping pills or tranquilizers they merely fall asleep and die peacefully, however the body will cause you to vomit violently and then start to convulse. It is painfull and will last up to a half hour. I have seen people commit suicide in various ways. They are all either painfull or very messy. The best thing to remember is that things never stay the same. Bad times do get better."

16 yr old Girl replied: "Firstly, although this isn't what you want to hear, do not commit suicide, or help anyone else to commit suicide. Secondly, you need to be very careful doing this. The last thing you want is a failed suicide attempt which is not only extremely embarrassing, but you could wake up from a week-long coma in hospital to be told that you've given yourself liver and kidney damage and will have to have dialysis treatment on a machine every month for the rest of your life! (The reason I say this is because it is exactly what happened to my friend! She tried to overdose on sleeping pills.) Most likely, the hospital will keep you there on suicide watch too. My friend said it was the biggest mistake of her life to take those pills... and to be honest, she was lucky. Some people are told they will just die painfully and horribly in a hospital bed over the next few weeks, with no hope of recovering. After all, they don't offer transplants to patients from failed suicide attempts. If you don't take enough tablets to knock yourself out, you probably will just vomit violently and painfully for a number of hours, or until you are caught, where you will be rushed to hospital to get your stomach pumped. I'm sure you are very tired of hearing this, but please don't attempt suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills or any other pills. It's highly unlikely the results will be what you want. You'll probably just find that you still have the problems causing you to want to do it, but also possibly further physical health problems due to the overdose and failed attempt. There is no easy and painless way to commit suicide, so I suggest rather than finding ways to attempt it you find a counsellor, doctor or psychologist immediately. Remember, things WILL get better. Not instantly, but they will. Trust me. All the best. X"

V replied: "Most any pills, seem to fail, you take them you pass out throw up, wake up in the hospital, realizing you are happy to be alive and glad it failed, the doctors tell you that the overdose has destroyed your kidneys or liver and that you will have a month to die a most agonizing unavoidable death, you can not get a transplant after a suicide attempt. Why not ask some one for help instead?"

GvH replied: "I'm wondering why you are asking. If someone wants to commit suicide they should talk to someone who can help them to hold on, and try to keep them safe. If there's really no one around them that they can trust, then they could call someone anonymously on a helpline, which they can find at Taking tablets is not a painless death, forget what you see on TV. Liver failure is a terrible thing, and also met people who've genuinely tried to end their life, but instead given themselves brain damage and then lived for years, mentally and physically disabled. I've also seen people who really wanted to die have some kind of change happen in their lives and go on to be really happy."

gotta luv da Li replied: "Messy, painful, low success rate, high injury/internal damage rate."

Gabriel G replied: "Suicide is a very selfish act and the individual contemplating it does not care or think how it will affect those who care about him or her or the suffering it will cause for them.Do not do it nor encourage anyone to do it.It will not be a quick and painless death.Suicide solves one problem but creates countless problems for other people which can lead to more suicide attempts like a domino effect.Talk to a friend or a psychologist or encourage your friend to talk to them.Talking can induce crying which releases the psychological pain."

Swapped Shoe replied: "Yes, very. You don't just black out and die a nice, peaceful death. There's no guarantee that the act will kill you, but there's a good chance it will leave you f*cked up for life if it doesn't. There isn't a suicide method that is both painless and guaranteed to kill, as far as I know. Don't do it, if you plan to. It won't solve a damn thing. You're basically trying to place your pain on your family members, and I mean all of them. So unless every single one of your family members is raping you with a stick dipped in hot sauce every day, please do not try to kill yourself, because innocent people will suffer for you. (And if your family IS completely evil, do something that's at least a little more reasonable. Talk to a freakin' professional about it). Good luck."

Can I take Lunesta and NyQuil together? I took a Lunesta to help sleep, but have chest and head conjestion. Is an overdose possible combining these two medicines?

alea replied: "i wouldn't. once you sleep you won't feel the congestion anyway."

Tea <3 replied: "No, no and NO! Read the back of the Lunesta box, jeez."

JESS replied: "No, but I would probalby only take half the dose of NyQuil to keep from feeling hung over the next day. Better yet, just a regular decongestant with out the sleep aid in it."

spunky replied: "take a cold medicine that isn't for night time. taking extra sleeping medicine isnt safe and could possibly have bad reaction. why not take just regular dayquil or better yet, ask the doc or pharmacist"

big_shot_nurse replied: "Bad Idea...I say no"

Moonfairy replied: "You can take sudafed safely with it. But you should ask the pharmacist first and always. I was on lunesta and took sudafed;-)"

lightningfastfords replied: "yes NyQuil has alcohol 25 % , in it, so ask a doctor or pharmacist"

iraq51 replied: "NyQuil's what 40% alcohol? I used Lunesta for a few days and had trouble waking up...or at least get up and get moving so I stopped using it. Never combine alcohol with a class of drug known as a Hypnotic; even if it is only a schedule IV narcotic."

Bessie Mae Koolo replied: "Ask Anna Nicole Smiths son......"

Antidepressant overdose - how long does it take to die? If I were to take a bunch of Effexor, Welbutrin, Invega, Lunesta and Tramadol all at once, how long would it take to die? I know that I'll probably puke and/or pass out, but how long would it actually take to die?

Mushu C replied: "one word.....DONT"

Overdosing on Lunesta? Is taking around 15 Lunesta pills enough to be fatal? I know people will post "supportive" comments, there's no way to prevent it, but I'm really curious, so can someone please just answer the question?

JA inSC replied: "i doubt it!!!!!!!!"

Mooreon replied: "You'd pass out, and you might throw up and asphyxiate on your own vomit."

Chris C replied: "It depends: Is that all you are going to take? Any other medications? Drinking it with alcohol? All at once or seperately? The answer is, yes, 15 CAN kill you. Will it? I can't say for sure. It will definately cause SEVERE medical problems...if you want to know the exact side effects call 1-800-222-1222. Quote: "I know people will post "supportive" comments..." Sorry, but I can't help, let me ask you...are you a Christian? If yes, are you SAVED? Do you know Jesus Christ as your saviour? If not, and you take 15 Lunesta's and die, you will go to HELL for eternity, it won't solve any of your problems. Please, if you are not saved, accept Jesus into your heart with a simple prayer like: "Dear God, I know I have sinned and deserve to die and go to hell, but I know that you gave your only son to die on the cross so that I can have eternal life with you. I ask for forgiveness of all my sins and invite you into my heart as my Lord and Personal Saviour" God bless you :-)"

Have you ever known someone who overdosed on sleeping meds? We had a family friend whom commited suicide by overdosing on Lunesta. It was very sad. Just wondering if anybody else has known somebody that overdosed on sleeping pills.

sixx_ replied: "Nope, but it's very possible to overdose on a nervous system depressant."

Zerro replied: "yes, my friends uncle overdozed o lorezepam."

notanlinesforme replied: "I'm so sorry! No.. I've never had that in my family. But I've heard of it."

slw182 replied: "I have overdosed on sleeping pills so many times but i'm still alive. i guess they just found me on time. I'm sorry about your friend."
